Well,i saw it.Annnnndddd …i still don’t know what all the fuss is about.Don’t get me wrong,it’s a technically well-made film,well shot,well acted but there’s an element i can’t put my finger on,that is lacking in making it a great film.

One or two stressful sequences (but nothing of the nail-biting kind i’ve been reading about) And if you blink,you’ll miss David Morse who i think is a terrific actor.Some tense scenes seem to lead to…nothing,like a deflated balloon.No follow-up and no resolution.By the end i was in a meh state of mind.Maybe i should’ve learned more about EOD’s (explosive ordnance disposal ) so i could’ve gotten in to the spirit of the film.

To sum it up,i think i’ll say that it just didn’t feel like a Kathryn Bigelow film.

Now,where’s my dvd of Near dark ?

I’m reading the making of Fitzcarraldo and the journal entries of Werner Herzog from 1979 and all.
This belongs in the Terry Gilliam category of filmmaking and attracting catastrophes one after another.
C’mon,if you’re gonna shoot a movie smack in the middle of the Amazon forest,1500 miles from any civilized region and pull up a 320-ton boat with the help of 300 indians,you don’t hire batshit-crazy Klaus Kinski unless you have the masochistic gene in you.And Werner may just have it.

This is 2010 right ?

Well,i’m very surprised that we can now make billions of calculations and operations on the tiniest of microchips, yet when i want to place an order for a Flickr pro account and can’t,it just tells me there is a problem and if it persists,i should contact customer care.

Is it Yahoo? is it Paypal ? is it Flickr with Paypal ? Mr. Magoo with Puff the magic dragon ? What ?

So i said Flick that,and went straight over to dphoto.com which i happen to think is the bee’s knees for a photo sharing site.I bought a 1-year lite account(1000 photos),and 20 bucks and 3 whole minutes later,i was uploading pics at Barry Allen speed.What i love the most about dphoto is how your photos are displayed on a black background and nothing else.No ads,pop-ups and that’s the free account too.

It’s literally all about your pictures,so go ahead and give it a shot !

In the end,there’s so much research you can do.And so much torte you can eat.

if you really investigate long enough(or too much as it is),you can find bad reviews and good reviews about Bluehost,Dreamhost or any hosting company you can Google.

So i went with this one.And around the end of March,i’ll give you an update on it.

Now i gotta read those bookmarks about migrating my blog to wp.com to wp.org.My first concern is putting all those wordpress files on a Verbatim usb drive and carry it around with me,since i don’t have a home computer for now. Guess it’s just in need of backup or stuff like that.

I just found this terrific book at the BANQ (National library and archives of Quebec) called Digital retro.It’s about the evolution and design of the personal computer by Gordon Laing who’s the former editor of Personal computer world magazine.It starts in 1975 and goes all the way up to 1988 and includes everything from the Altair models (whose name was coined by the 12-year-old daughter of Practical electronics technical director,Les Solomon) and includes The Vectrex,the Orics,the Acorns,the Jupiters and much more.40 classic computers,each complete with many photos and facts.

About that kid,it seems she was watching the Star trek episode Amok time in which the crew is originally on its way to Altair 6 before Spock’s raging killer hormones kick in.

You know when you meet people that are stuck in the 80′s and still say girls don’t care about geeky stuff ,well you can give them this rasberry cake from Bjo Trimble and me.

If you find yourself with a new computer and you have to reload all those apps (browsers,audio programs,video players etc..) This will save you a few hours of installation so you can have more time to watch a few episodes of Eureka or Fringe.Or Eureka AND Fringe together.Only choose the ones you want with the added bonus of having none of those annoying toolbars included.

It’s awesome but i still don’t know how to pronounce it.
